FOGSI West Zonal Conference With Yuva 18-20th November, 2022 Nahargarh Palace, Ranthambore, Rajasthan
FOGSI WEST ZONAL CONFERENCE WITH YUVA 2022 under the ageis of Federation of Obstetrics & Gyaecological Societies of India with Dr Hrishikesh Pai as the 61st President commenced on 18th November at Nahargarh palace, Ranthambore, Rajasthan.
This is the brief overview regarding the start of the conference and presenting the magnitude of the activities and work done during the conference
The conference work commenced with the Online E-Paper Evaluation on 15-16th Nov with total 95 Online e-papers were evaluated by our esteemed judges panel which included Dr Lila Vyas, Dr Premlata Mittal, Dr Madhubala Chauhan, Dr Nupur Hooza, Dr Sudha Gandhi, Dr Anita Simlot, Dr Nidhi Gupta & Dr Megha Shastri. First prize was won by Dr Arnav Pai, second by Dr Vandana Kumawat and third by Dr Anju Jharwal.
FOGSI PICSEP Workshop on Research Methodology & Biostatistics was organised on 17th November from 10:00 am -2:00pm at New Medical College, Kota which was attended by 60 delegates and 20 faculties under the able guidance of Principal Medical College Dr. Vijay Sardana. The guest faculty from FOGSI was Dr Pradnya Supe, MOGS Youth Council member, Mumbai.
On 18th November, our President FOGSI Dr Hrishikesh Pai received the traditional Rajasthani welcome which gave him a sneak peek into the Nahargarh palace that relives the history of Rajasthan. Honouring with the Rajasthani Kesariya Safa, which is believed to be most royal and more respectable style of greeting our ‘Atithi Devo Bhav’, touched our guest in addition to the colourful welcome.
Pre-Congress Workshops were held on 18th November namely Near Live Gynae Surgical Workshop (65 registered delegates), Safety in Labour Room (55 registered delegates), Fetal Medicine Workshop (45 registered delegates) which was well appreciated by the house as both informative and interactive. There was a surgical video competition pertaining to the theme of the conference – “Safety for all” with declaration of the Surgical Youth Icon Award for the West Zone. The judges panel included Dr Mehul Sukhadiya, Dr Nita Thakre, Dr B.S.Jodha, Dr Sumesh Chaudhary &Dr Sujal Munshi. Dr Santawan Mehta won the Surgical Youth Icon Award for the west zone with Dr Farendra Bharadwaj & Dr Mansi Gupta as first and second runner up respectively. More than 35 faculties from all across the zone were there in the workshops with approx. 150 delegates in all. Conveners for the workshop being Dr Sumesh Chaudhary, Dr Priya Gupta, Dr Subash Mallya, Dr Khushboo Meena & Dr Megha Sharma.
Respective workshop formal inauguration was done by President FOGSI, Dr Hrishikesh Pai, Vice President Dr Asha Baxi, Convener Dr Sunita Tandulwadkar, other Vice Presidents Dr Yashodhara Pradeep, Dr Alka Pandey, Dr S.SampathKumari, Organising Chairperson Dr Lila Vyas, Organising Secretary Dr Deshdeepak, Organising Co-Chairperson Dr Rajshree Gohadkar , Dr Ranjana Vaya ,Secretary KOGS and faculties from all the workshops.
Workshop Inauguration was followed by inauguration and announcement of ‘BADLAAV CLINIC’ with our chief guest being SDM Mr Upendra Sharma, Chauth ka Barwada with the gracious presence of Secretary General Dr Madhuri Patel, Past President & National FOGSI Coordinator -2022, Dr Rishma Dhillon Pai. Addressing the gathering Dr. Hrishikesh Pai, urged all to make a difference called ‘BADLAAV’- the Presidential Theme of the Year with the amalgamation of EKIKARAN (Integration), SAMANTA (Equality) & TAKNIKI(Technology). He emphasised the need for participation in the implementation of the Project Badlaav, by serving on 18th of every month for the detection and management of Non-Communicable Diseases associated with females, motivating and guiding them with their respective management. A poem titled "Badlaav bahut jaruri hai, thehrav to majburi hai" written by Badlaav Clinic Moderator Dr Bajrang Soni was recited to highlight how change is a step to way forward.
Achiever’s award launched as Presidential Awards to felicitate and acknowledge the fellow fogsians working at grass root level who had made an impact with their sincere contributions in their respective societies and beyond. Dr Pai announced for the FOGSI Achiever Award for their outstanding contributions in field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and dedication towards women’s health to be given in all the Yuva Zonal Conferences of respective zones of FOGSI societies held throughout the year. Ms. Poonam Dhillon who has made sincere contributions and worked with commitment along with admiration for the medical fraternity despite being a superstar, a film actress, was the Chief Guest for the awards ceremony. Dr Aruna Agrawal, Dr Abha Godhara, Dr R P Rawat, Dr Nirmala Sharma (Kota); Dr Mridul Gehlot, Dr Veena Acharya (Jaipur); Dr Devyani Ranawat, Dr Nandini (Alwar) including President & Secretary from all the west zone societies were felicitated. Super Achiever Awards were given to the past Vice Presidents of FOGSI for their sincere contributions.
18th evening had been a cultural extravaganza and FOGSI has Talent 2.0 competition by none other than our own fogsians at the Nahargarh Amphi theatre with extraordinary mesmerising performances in dance and singing by the fellow fogsians. The cultural evening was well organised by National Talent Hunt Coordinator Dr Bela Bhatt, Dr Sulochana Mittal and Dr Nidhi Barthunia. Dr Rajshree Gohadkar and Dr Girish Mane secured first place in singing and Dr Rajni Chatter stood 2nd. Dr Archana Mittal & Dr Amita Saxena stood first in dance and Dr Khushboo Jain secured second position. The ambience, stage and the crowd of fellow fogsians added stardom to the cultural night along with the gracious presence of our esteemed judges namely Ms. Shashi Saxena, Ms. Geeta Dadhich, Mr Ashok Mishra & Mr Dharmendraji.
On 19th morning, more than 100 participants took part in the Sports Event & public awareness program regarding prevention of NCD’s organised at FOGSI West Zonal Conference with Yuva, organised by Dr Sunita Yogi & Dr Prakash Jain along with sincere efforts of Dr Sudhir Agrawal, Dr Jyoti, Dr Narendra Soni for taking permission for the dushhera ground and court permission from District Sport Authority and making necessary arrangements. Special thanks to Mr. Surat Singh Negi, ADM & Mr. Kapil Sharma, SDM, Sawai Madhopur, for helping in smooth conduction of events. All the seniors of the societies participated actively & enthusiastically in all the sports activities along with yuva members giving them a tough competition in all the sports events. Certificate of participation along with medals to the winners in each category were distributed.
19th November had been a real start of mind stimulating scientific deliberations and discussions from stalwarts all across the country in the form of lectures, in-depth panel discussions, orations etc. That will help our future generations to develop networks and transform their clinical practice with added safety protocols. Medicolegal issues pertaining to safety were discussed in all the domains of obstetrics & gynaecology practice.
Scientific deliberations were delivered by Secretary General FOGSI Dr.Madhuri Patel, National Coordinator Dr Rishma Dhillon Pai, Dr.S.Shanthakumari, Dr. Hema Divakar, Dr. P.K.Shah, Dr Asha Baxi, Dr Sunita Tandulwadkar, Dr. Mandakini Megh, Dr. Tushar Kar , ICOG chair Dr Laxmi Shrikhande. Presidential Oration given by Dr Hrishikesh Pai on reproductive genetics, is the need of the hour in today’s era. Dr.Pai emphasised the importance of the integration of reproductive genetic screening and ART which is expanding at an accelerating rate, raising the hopes of many seeking the chance to have a healthy baby,which one must be aware regardless of an individual’s practice area.
The conference inauguration was done by Honourable Chief Guest Mr. Danish Abrar (MLA Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Member All India Congress Committee, Advisor to Chief Minister). He said that FOGSI can play a greater role in the development of nation & women empowerment. He motivated everyone to actively participate and serve for a day in rural areas which would add to the comprehensive appraisal of Indian villages.
The inaugural was followed by prestigious ICOG, MANYATA session and indepth lectures, deliberate panel discussions by our faculties with great attendance & participation by delegates physically and virtually too, as conference was hybrid with online live relay of the events and sessions in three parallel conference halls on both the days 19 & 20th.
There were also 90 free paper presentation & 60 poster presentation on 19th and 20th November managed by Dr Kumkum Gupta with winners for free paper,junior category being Dr.Sonal Behra first, second place Dr.Latasha & Dr.Pallavi, third place by Dr.Akshita & Dr.Shaniya.
Senior category free paper first prize was secured by Dr Gulshan Bano, second by Dr.Deepa Gupta and third by Dr Khushbu Jain.
Poster prizes was won by Dr.Vandana Verma in first place, second by Dr.Seema Gurjar & third by Dr Ritu Jangid.
Dr.Kamini A Rao Yuva Oration – Swasth Naari Sukhi Naari was delivered by Dr Neha Seehra which was highly appreciated by all.
Zonal quiz was also conducted by Dr Nilesh, Chairperson FOGSI Quiz Committee with Udaipur Team being the winner.
Valedictory session on 20th November was graced by the humble presence of Dr.Hrishikesh Pai, our President FOGSI who witnessed the declaration of all the prize winners and participated in distribution of the same. Finally, the 3-day Conference was concluded with a valedictory note with sincere thanksgiving to all who made the conference a big success with their presence & participation. Giving a speech that lives upto your prior success is a challenge which was well executed by Dr Lila Vyas & Dr Deshdeepak; with special thanks to all the faculty, delegates, administrators & pharma companies and hope to seek support and encouragement for each other in future endeavours. Dr Ritika Mathur, Treasurer finally concluded the valedictory session with her vote of thanks on behalf of Organising team and Kota Obstetrics & Gynaecological Society.
